NBFL Season Structure

The National Billiard Football League (NBFL) is a new billiard strategy league and game that simulates the excitement of football on a billiard table. The NBFL is extremely unique type of league where each game can be interactive with known fan-based football teams in the real world. A billiard player can now choose their favorite team, play their exact season, and disect their weekly billiard football game stats to improve their billiard game play. Why just watch your favorite team play each along!

  • The NBFL rules combines the fast paced action of 9- ball and the strategy of 8- ball mixed with footballs terminology and rules.
  • In the NBFL you will be passing, receiving and running downs to score touchdowns, two point conversions, field goals, and safeties. You as a QB can throw interceptions, completions/incomplete passes, fumble the football, be sacked for a safety. As a receiver you can catch the ball and sprint to the end zone for a TD. As a running back you can slip by the defense and go all the way for a TD or fumble the ball.  As a defensive player you can play as a defensive tackle, end, line backer, or strong safety to sack and cause fumbles , and maybe sack your opponent for a 2-point safety score. And the rules for all the above are extremely simple!
  • In the NBFL you can play ANY team (college or pro). For added excitement there are select team billiard balls that can be used to enhance game experience.
  • The NBFL will greatly improve any APA, ACS, BCA, TAPs, etc league players abilities on the table. You will become fearless at the table.
  • Competitive skill levels for ALL billiard players (Rookie, Rookie Starter, Pro, Pro Starter, All-Pro, and All-Pro Starter). Rule variations allow competitive play for all players novice to pro.
  • In the NBFL you can play head-to-head games  with your favorite rival or play a virtual game against ANY future or past opponent.
  • All NBFL games use score sheets that allows excellent tracking of a player/teams billiard performance and statistics using football terminology.
  • The NBFL Online Post Game- Stat System keeps you updated and aware of problem areas in your billiard game play. Enjoy sharing your stats.

Skill Levels

The NBFL was designed from the ground up by a professional BCA billiard instructor, league operator, tournament director, and player with a few key objectives in mind:

 1) the league would have to be fan-based interactive,
2) simulate a real football game and league as closely possible with rules and stats ,
 3) gradually challenge the players participating each week to add excitement to their games,
 4)  quickly improve any players billiard skills in a very unique way by rules designed purposely mixing in 8 and 9 ball formats which most players are experienced,
 5) and gather great stats on a players game to truly diagnose and correct game play defiencies.

The NBFL understands that not all players are at the same skill level. However, we also recognize everyone should have the SAME benchmark regardless of skill to challenge their game.

All players have a goal to get over the SAME eight foot wall. Some will jump and climb, others use a ladder, and some use a rope. But they all can get over the wall. We use the same principle in the NBFL. We want everyone to reach their goal but we give them different play rules to make the climb more challenging. In other leagues they may call it a handicap. We prefer to call it "YOUR choice of play". Climb the wall however YOU choose. Just's the same eight foot wall that EVERYONE will climb. Challenge yourself, but have fun.

Each NBFL season lasts 20 weeks in duration.

Each week the Points Against (PA) scored from your opponent team progressively increase by a few points. The PA is points you must score higher in your 10 Drive game to win that weeks match-up with whatever virtual opponent team you are playing. On week #1 the PA is 10pts and progresses to 50pts at the end of the season in week #20.
